Funky Muvrad Rose, Pet-Nat, 2021, Bulgaria

This is all the rage at the moment, a lightly sparkling wine referred to as Pet Nat. The technique involves some fermentation in the bottle and then bottle ageing before disgorgement. The wine uses the indigenous grape Mavrud, which produces a lovely pale pink, slightly cloudy (please don’t be put off!!) wine. A really fabulous alternative to a sparkling wine which we are so excited to have on our list!
